Activate dimmed DRL with Lowbeam

Post by Blaubaer » Thu Mar 07, 2019 6:36 pm

Hey guys,
I want to change my stock halogen headlights in my 2018 mk8 Fiesta from “without dedicated DRL to “with dedicated DRL”
Currently the DRL ist emitted by the high beam bulb and switches off totally when low beam is activated.
I want to install the original ford headlights with the LED-Ring as DRL but they don’t behave the right way. As before the DRL switches off when the low beam is activated... no surprise. When you buy a car which has the LED DRL preinstalled by Ford they get dimmed to position light when the low beam is activated.
I am search for the right Block and if possible Configuration in the BCM to archive the same “stock” behaviour.

use the central configuration and change from without drl to with drl , remember to change the top setting to engineering mode + show hidden items .then you dont need to go threw lines of the as built to do anything as it does it for you .
i am the same as you just a forscan user still learning .

I don’t have a central configuration option although it’s a fiesta. Is there a SBL required for the mk8 or is the central configuration even an option ? I am a little pessimistic after reading this post :

The new Fiesta works as the new Mondeo, only Direct Config, so u need to change the bits in every module needed to do the job.

I guess the new Focus is gonna work the same, so no longer Central Config

ouch , may not be easy for you then if the central config option is removed ,and yes the sbl is required if you have cc .

I usually unplug the cable from the headlights and turn it back on to work. But I'm also looking for a solution. In the hope that it works like the ones that come from origin.

my ford fiesta mk8 with led in drl, at night for the led to work together with the dipped lights I unplug the cable and then connect again until I figure out how to set it up.
