Just wanted to add that I tried my Chinese VCM II clone, which is the cheapest single PCB clone available on ebay, with Forscan. It does connect and 'work', but it doesn't see all of the modules. My $15 Amazon ELM 327 device sees all available modules.

Good two-board chinease VCMII fullchip clone seems to be really identical to genuine VCMII and works well. I used to reprogram and configurate ECUs (with IDS software) etc without any problems. It's good with a Forscan too, works more stable then ELM327.

Well, from all J2534 adapters we saw only Ford VCMII does support UBP... And no, UBP is not supported for J2534 yet as testing of UBP is not successful yet (we had no chance yet to get a local access to a vehicle with UBP - as it is US market specific). If anyone has J2534 with UBP support and vehicle with UBP support, we are ready to cooperate (do necessary tests and implement normal support in FORScan).
This might be a dumb question (I'm still learning) but if one was to use a VCMII clone from china(assuming it functioned), would FORScan be able to see modules on the UBP buss then? 2004 Lincoln Town Car, still a couple of modules I can't access.

Hello Wolf

I have an SP177-C good quality clone with which I helped test UBP VCMii support during development of the 2.3.9beta version using a 2003 Expedition and a 2005 F150 and all the UBP modules show up and the self tests run.

UBP VCMii support has been available since Forscan 2.3.9 version release.

Excellent, thank you. Now I need to find a reliable VCMII clone.
