All, Ive found that its much easier to install *free* VirtualBox on your MAChttps://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloa ... ocom=98578, then download, and install Windows 10 .iso into a virtual image. There is a legal free download from Microsoft. Fully functional, just not activated. then just install the full windows version of Forescan.

I got FORScan to "work" in WINE, but it's extremely slow and uses tons of CPU:

PID COMMAND %CPU TIME #TH #WQ #PORT MEM PURG CMPRS PGRP
7102- FORScan66886 57.4 02:35.82 8/1 1 163 20M 0B 0B 7077
7108- FORScan66886 45.8 02:01.52 1 0 15 4380K 0B 0B 7108

Running it in Parallels Desktop, Windows 8 it works fine but I'd rather avoid using windows since it uses tons of memory!

I have it running perfectly in CrossOver. The Extended version of FORScan. Really simple install... only issue is I have a Bluetooth ODBII dongle -- CrossOver does not allow porting of the Mac's Bluetooth functionality to any of the bottles within CrossOver... So, I am returning the dongle for a USB and I will try again. I'm sure it will work with no issue as I have used CrossOver with a USB device many times before.

Hi All-

I also have a MacBook Pro running High Sierra. I have FORScan running in CROSSOVER. I also have a switchable ELM327 from amazon

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N1 ... UTF8&psc=1

I have been using the adapter with a windows 10 laptop, and it was running fine until the laptop crashed and died.

So question 1 is, can anyone dumb it down for me to get FORScan or Crossover to "see" the USB that the ELM is plugged into? I need explicit instructions please. And don't be an ass if you can't help.

Question 2 is can anyone tell me if its possible and how to activate the extended license in the Crossover or in Wine? I downloaded it using internet explorer in Crossover (Wine) but I cannot locale the .key or .reg file, all I can find is a .csv.

Thanks all. I love FORScan, just converting to the Mac is the hard part

With the source it would be easy to fix this problem and even compile it with WINE libraries

I followed this advice. I now have Forscan via Virtualbox on Windows 10 Home un-activated. Using a MacBook Pro 2017 running 10.13.6 High Sierra. BUT, I cannot get Forscan to connect to the bluetooth OBDLink MX. The MacBook will connect to the OBDLink MX, but Windows and Forscan will not. I have tried looking adding the device through settings - no luck. I have tried going through the Device Manager - no bluetooth file even listed there.

I have thought about ditching the bluetooth device and getting a USB OBD connector, but I don't know if that will even solve the issue.

I wonder if I need to buy a license key for the Windows 10 to activate the bluetooth, but I don't know if that will help either.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
