Airbag light , reset the passenger occupancy sensor

Post by xjaguar86 » Fri Sep 14, 2018 5:39 pm

Hello to all,
I have a 2008 Ford Escape XLT 2.3l NON hybrid.
It was in a wreck and the driver airbag deployed. The Driver airbag has been replaced with no issues.
The driver side seatbelt retractor got locked up, and got a replacement from the salvage yard and installed it. works great.
I had the RCM module sent to myairbags.com and they cleared the crash codes from it, So I no longer get the B1231 Crash detected code.
However, the airbag light is still on. Now I am still getting code B2290. I was told that any time the vehicle is in a crash with an airbag deployment, it will trigger the B2290 to have the occupancy sensor in the passenger seat recalibrated, which is what I am trying to do.
I also have a code for seatbelt pretensioner, but I also had that replaced even though the previous one did not deploy. I am not sure if that module just needs to be reset to clear that code.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
