Hyper Flash 2005 Grand Marquis

Post by doncole13 » Wed Sep 05, 2018 9:05 pm

Hey folks. New to the forum. I have a 2005 Grand Marquis. Changed all the lights to LED's. I was using resistors, but they get waaaay to hot.

I watched some videos on using FORScan to change the codes to fix it. I can not seem to find it on my version. I do have the license.

Thanks in advance.

The LCM in the Panther platform (Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town Car) does not support disabling hyperflash. The resistors are the only way to do so. You should find a safe place to mount the resistors away from components that may become damaged by heat. A good location would be directly against a metal surface that can sink some of the heat away.

I have yet to find the answer (module wise), I just bypassed the LCM and installed a LED compatible signal flasher. No resistors to get hot, no cut up wiring to fail years later down the road.
