open source forscan

Post by stern0m1 » Tue Jul 10, 2018 2:47 pm

Hi,
I am new to forscan.
Is there any components to forscan thats open source?
Or there is there any documentation publicly available to assist developer?
I am interested in making a simple device that would enable the remote start options , similar to https://www.12volt.solutions/products/f ... programmer.

Thanks!

Bumping instead of a new thread.

I'm curious about this as well, at least the documentation portion. I've been making a custom CAN interface for my Mustang and have been sniffing the CAN bus when performing functions in the car and/or with FORScan to "reverse engineer" what's going on.

On that note, how is most of FORScan's documentation obtained to build the software? Is it primarily when sniffing the CAN bus when running official Ford tools such as IDS, "decompiling" IDS, etc.?

Bumping as well, curious where all the information to reprogram the as built's and the CAN bus protocol, is coming from. Looking to gain an in-depth understanding of PCM/BCM's.

Any general information is appreciated as well! I have a Taurus SHO that I want to play with.

What are the legalities with hacking the hackers?
