Unable to Identify Vehicle - Please Contact Developers

Post by FORZDA2 » Fri Apr 13, 2018 10:49 pm

When I try to connect the ELM to vehicle (2018 Ford F150 Raptor), I get the attached message. My laptop FORScan connects to the ELM, but then says it can't read the vehicle and says to contact the developers. I'm guessing my vehicle software is a newer version? Please help...

Thanks!

Make sure all is right in:

And if you got an ELM with the switch...switch must be on HS to start with.

I've reviewed the Configuration and the HS/MS switch position and tried all combinations. I may have the problem because the PCM/TCM has an aftermarket "tune" in it? I'll need to flash back to OEM and try again. Thanks for the input!

Flashed back to stock and still no joy on connecting to the vehicle. Looks like I'll just try another ELM device...

Hello everyone.

I tried last night to connect with Forscan 2.3.14 to my jaguar s type 3.0 v6 from 2000 but no success.

I get an message like "can not identify car in to database".

ELM327 interface is ok, is green on Forscan. Tried with the switch in the ms and hs positions.

Is there any software version that will support a 1999/2001 Jaguar S Type ? Its exactly the same as a Lincoln LS 3.0 v6 1999/2001. They both share the same ecu, loom, and all the other hardware.

I have to re-program the control modules and turn some stuff off like the airbags and seat module as I re-used almost everything from a jaguar S type and build into a '69 Ford Taunus 20m and the airbags and seat module are no longer used.

Thank you so much in advance.

Regards
