2011 Fusion Remote Entry Clear

Post by Johnd500 » Mon Apr 09, 2018 3:35 pm

Hello all - I have a 2011 Fusion that I recently cleared PATS to clear keys I do not have and reprogrammed existing keys that I do have. Followed instructions and all went well. All 4 existing keys work and non-existing have been cleared. Keys are 2 original with remote heads and 2 are 3rd party with separate remotes. I have been using all 4 keys for a few years and all work with no problems.

However, existing remote entry fobs did not clear. In other words, all remotes stayed registered. I did not have to program the remotes as they never cleared. I definitely want to clear and re-register the remotes so I can clear remotes that I do not have (if any). I did try the method where you cycle the key 8 time to put PATS into program mode and let it time out. This was suppose to clear all remotes but it didn't. All stayed registered.

Is there a way to clear the registered remotes in ForScan? If so, how?

Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

Thank you for this suggestion Twisterrescue. I have tried this several times and it still didn't clear the unused remotes. I also tried several variations (close the door, used only 1 key, ect.) and it still didn't work.

Any other ideas on how to clear remotes?

Thanks for your time.

Hello Twisterrescue, been awhile but I need to figure this out. I appreciate your help so far. I did do the procedure in you last post and it still did not clear the unused remotes. It did do the answer back by horn beeping each time I pressed the lock on the remotes. It would answer each time I pressed the lock button. 4 times, 4 answers. Still didn't clear the unused remotes.

Any other suggestions?

Let me know.

Thanks.

From my experience the keys with remote heads once programmed with IDS will still work unless deleted. In IDS after you program the pats key it asks if you want to program the remote. However as your case I would just cycle the key 8 times into program mode and program only one remote and let the system time out. Turn the key off and see if that works.

Hello Ptrck600,

I did try as you suggested but still no joy. All of the remotes (total of 4) are still registered. I went into programming mode and just let it time out. All remotes still worked. Then I tried just 1 remote and let it time out. The other 3 were still worked. Very frustrating.

You mentioned IDS. What is that and do you think I can erase the remotes in IDS and reprogram them back in?

Thanks in advance for your help.

IDS is Ford’s proprietary software program used by dealerships.

I’ve been able to erase remotes the easy way in the past.

Both remotes you have are two different styles. One is called IKE remote head. The other is just a key fob.

I think the dealership may be the only option for what you’re trying to accomplish. I believe it’s called a parameter reset. Not just a erase all keys.
