Mondeo Bifuel (Lpg)

Post by midnight »

Hi, Im new here. Can I ask if Forscan is capable of supporting the Bifuel ecu in a factory fit mondeo Mk2 2001. It is an Icom Lpg system and it was fitted by Tickfords for Ford.

Sorrry, we are not familiar with this system so we don't know the answer. The only way is to try.

Hi and thankyou for responding. I tried it out over the weekend and I can confirm that it does appear to work. Unfortunately I'm no expert so I cannot say how well it works, but it does appear to me to function correctly. If I can I will upload the manual in pdf format for the Ford BiFuel system as there are many owners of these BiFuel vehicles both here in the UK and across Europe. There is little information if any on the internet that explains the system used by Ford. If an engine has a fault then it will show up when using the Lpg side of the system long befor it shows up on the petrol side of the system. The manual covers the Mondeo, Focus and Transit. LDV also did an LPG system based on a ford engine so some of what is in the manual may be applicable to them, but I am unsure. I do know that there is a cd that can be downloded for LDV which does include the Lpg system. The cd is simular to the Land Rover Rave cd or the Ford cd that can be downloaded off of the internet. The manual may be of use to the FORScan programmers as it does contain some infomation regarding how the petrol ECU and the BiFuel ECU comunicate with each other. It also has a list of fault codes that the Bifuel ECU generates when a fault is detected.
