4th Key no PATs options except initialize

Post by Gurusi » Sat Mar 07, 2020 1:16 am

Hey, first post. Just to confirm I have searched the forum/web for info before posting.

I have a 2007 Ford Ranger. Forscan v2.3.29 beta with an extended license. Keys were checked with B1601 as the DTC.

I had X1 original key and bought X3 extras (Strattec oem). I erased all record (2) and reprogrammed X2 new keys successfully.

I then went to ignition key programming for the 3rd key successfully. However the 4th and final key came up with an error on three occasions.

So i disconnected and tried again only to find that all of the PATs options were gone with the exception of Module Initialization, help and exit.

Module initialization completes successfully; however the same options remain.

My X3 keys are all good, the forth key is just nagging me!

I am i missing something obvious? can anyone help?

Hey, thanks for the info. I can not see any checkbox/option to specify the amount of keys within the GUI of the program. Could you tell me where it would be at? Or could it be a car model/year specific option?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. i did confirm the max number of keys as X8. after disconnecting the battery for a while and reconnecting I am now presented with a code that i believe is the issue:-

B2141-60 Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) configuration failure — No PCM ID stored in PATS.

I have no idea how this occurred or what the solution is. A web search gave me very little to work with.

If i clear the code it does not reappear; however i do get a B1352 when trying initialize PAT's (with an original key)
