Ford Fiesta ESP off warning message

Post by oldboy » Sun Nov 10, 2019 6:08 pm

Ford Fiesta zetec S 1.6ti 2009, which on occasion, and more as the weather is getting colder, flashes a warning on first cold start that "ESP is off". This then clears after a few seconds and all is well no codes or lights on. It's as though the car is switching esp off and back on again during a cold start? There are no warning messages on the dash and no codes stored for this issue.

My gut instinct is a failing battery? But I'm unsure as to how bad the battery has to be. So could some kind soul provide me with known good voltage for a cold morning start (no lower than 12.5v?) and what the running voltage should be?

Many thanks 8-)

The battery needs to be load tested with the tool. Volts dont show if its good or bad only if its flat or not.
