Modules not showing up

Post by siberia » Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:25 pm

Hi, new to the forum and ForScan, noob and enthusiast user here.

I purchased this OBD2 adapter to use with ForScan. I'm connecting via USB COM.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F0 ... UTF8&psc=1

When I plug it into my 2016 F-150 Lariat it doesn't matter whether the switch is in MS-CAN or HS-CAN, I only get 4 HSCAN modules. Attaching some screenshots of what I see.

Can anybody help me with getting access to the PDM, DDM and other modules? Do I need a different adapter or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for this awesome community!

Does it prompt you to flick the switch to the other mode during the start up?

It did once yesterday, but hasn't done it again any other time I've tried since I changed the "ELM327 MS-CAN support" advanced settings from "Auto" to the "HS/MS switch" option.

What you will need to do then i make sure the setting is to switch and then connect. When it asks you to load a profile. Dont use exisiting, create a new one. that will then look for all modules your car vehicle can have and that should do it. If that doesnt that your adapter is faulty.

I'll try that and post back.
What position should the adapter's switch be on when connecting and creating a new profile, MSCAN or HSCAN?

it shouldnt matter, it should prompt you to switch over when required. If it doesnt work on one, do it again but on the other setting.

I had a very similar issue so I deleted the profile that is was using but now forscan says it's unable to connect to the vehicle at all?

Did my ELM adapter go bad or something?

Thanks
