Focus MK4 Cruise Control activation

Post by riker82 » Fri Dec 27, 2019 9:53 pm

Hello,
In my mk4 Ford Focus Plus I have no key in my steering wheel to activate cruise control but it has only speed limit functionality.

I tried to activate the functionality with Forscan last version 2.3.27 beta but it seems not working using the Set+ button.
Should I also change the control panel on the steering wheel replacing with the one with cruise control button?

Thanks in advance

Hey,
first time I hear about MK4 focus without cruise control...
Anyway, if you don't have that button then you have to change the steering wheel button block. Part Numbers depend on what type of car you have (manual/automatic) and how far you want to go (standard Cruise Control or even intelligent Automatic Cruise Control (which would require camera and radar module)).
I have experience with enabling both and I can tell you that you won't get far with ForScan here. You will have to modify up to 7 modules for that an just with ASBuilt it is a bit tricky. I used UCDS.

Thank you for your reply.
Unlucky it’s a company car, Plus version (which is the entry level).
In Italy (where I live) usually Ford sell the Business edition as entry level but mine I think it’s importing one coming from Germany ( I suppose).
I would like to enable basic cruise control so I suppose that I have to buy the steering switch in order to enable it later on with Forscan.
Do you think it’s possible to re-program the Speed limit button, in order to be used as Cruise control?

No, you can't change the function of the buttons, you would have to change the control block. The button block is about 70€, the one you need would be with cruise control and limiter.
And then you need to program the BCM, IPC, SCCM, I think ABS and depending on the engine maybe PCM modules. The AsBuilt codes I don't know, I don't use ForScan for such kind of things.
