Need testers for PATS function in 2008-2010 FG Falcon
We need testers to complete PATS programming testing for 2008-2010 FG Falcon. The problem is that the function requires an adapter with seamless HS/MS CAN switching (OBDLink MX+/BT, ELS27, OBDLink SX modified with DC-DC relay etc). The function was delivered with status "experimental" in 2.3.19, but it seems it is not always working properly as recently one Falcon was bricked using it. The owner doesn't want to assist in resolving the problem and the car will go to a dealer. It seems we will have to remove the function from public FORScan release until it is confirmed as working reliable enough.
So we are looking for a tester. Requirements are:
- Adapter with seamless HS/MS CAN switching as mentioned above
- Readiness to have some (short, as we hope) time without car in case of something goes wrong (there may be 2 or even more test iterations)

Don't blame the BCM. Ford call it GEM. A new replacement GEM is now a MK2 version. MK2 PATS has a different method (security clearance only) ie not incode /outcode. I have done The Mk1 without issue with both Forscan and IDS. Issue can arise as the all door closed must be closed inc boot. If you want a guinea pig , I have Mk1 and Mk2 and FGX's to try.

Actually ford have now superseded all FG1,FG2 to a FGX BEM. PATS is pretty much the same between FG1,FG2/FGX Differences is FG1 PATS is part of the instrument cluster which requires a parameter reset. FG2 & FGX clusters are configured via central car configuration.

If you fit a BEM with part number starting with ER2 you cannot do a parameter reset or key programming. PATS in FG2 onwards involves more than just the BCM and PCM now. It also Incorporates IC as well . Ford went form 128 bit encryption to 256 Bit Encryption for Pats and have not released the coding to scan tool companies . Only know of one company barr Ford dealer that can do it but it takes 12 hrs plus with continuous internet connection with ignition on car on and bem module in keep alive mode. 419-10-11 in the FGX manual explains the sequence of events. That's why you can get a start and run for 2 secs after you disconnect the battery, but once the IC is challenged the IC with immobilise.

I can confirm the FGX BEM does work in a FG1 when i was working at ford i installed an FGX bem to my 08 G6E and did a parameter reset and PMI via the ford ids as per FG1 all done in 25 minutes. Also gained some new features going to a FGX bem.
Also ALL SZ1 Territory now use a SZ2 BEM

Function for 2008-2010 FG has being successfully tested (confrimed as working by 2 testers) and will be included in the nearest release (2.3.23). So we guess the issue is closed. Function for FG Mk2 is not developed yet but will do.

Just wondering if there's a difference in PATS between a FG 2010 and a FG 2011. I have a 2011 FG and from what I've read here there's a possibility mine is going to be different?
I have just bought this car 2nd. hand and it only came with one key(fob) unfortunately. I have a replacement fob with blank key but I'm too scared to attempt anything due to possible bricking. The car is my daily driver so, you know, gotta be cautious...

If it's FG Mk2, then that's not supported yet.

Yes, it is the Mk2 (sorry, should have mentioned that). Ah well, thank you for your reply and saving me from a potential mess!
