Update here, one of Chinese DB9 breakouts was different than the other, I am able to connect with can lab now at 125k and 500k for low and high speed networks. Still no luck with FORScan though.

Hello Forscan,
I am busy testing an older Mongoose PWM/CAN with FEPS for Ford on your software. I can confirm the software sees the device and make connection to it without problem.
I will test connection to the car and reading of parameters in a few hours. So far this seems to be a go.
edit: I can confirm the above adapter works in Win7 environment with Forscan sw. Hopefully soon I can update it to Mongoose Ford Pro and have it run in Win10 environment - will retest an feedback then.
Cheers,
Beano

I have been a Ford Master Technician for 30 years and used about every brand diagnostic scanner?Autel Maxisys Elite over the years and this one is hands down the best and most universal scanner I have used to date! Never once have I had an issue with the Blue Tooth connection between the scanner and the VCM unlike what we use at Ford. Programs keys perfectly, bi-directional controls work flawless and is very fast processing of live data....WAY faster than Snap On Versus and the software especially for Ford is almost identical to Fords software with the IDS we use at the dealership...I actually prefer my Autel over the IDS now.
Re: Support of J2534 (Pass-Thru) adapters in FORScan v2.2.*
Hello
I'm developing a J2534-1/2534-2 device based on the STM32 microprocessor. I have a two CAN-buses and one ISO9141 bus. Forscan is working properly with my PassThru driver, but i can't run the J2534-2 part which is handling MS-CAN. Is there any chance to provide a custom device name which will handle the J2534-2 part (in a textbox or as an application parameter)?
EDIT: Connecting to the J2534-2 is working without passing a device name. Somehow FORScan started trying connecting to MSCAN protocol byself. It is working with my custom device.

Re: Support of J2534 (Pass-Thru) adapters in FORScan v2.2.*
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum but have many years experience in calibration on vehicles. A search for a good Ford CAN software came up with FORScan but I can't connect it to my interface. This is a J2534 from PEAK called PCAN-USB type IPEH-002021. FORScan ( 2.3.16 beta ) does not find the device. Under devices on my Windows 7 laptop it is shown and status is ready. Can I manually choose what J2534 device to use in FORScan?
Thanks, Sebastian

link is dead ,careucar is updated to obd2eshop,correct link is:FORScan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2016 7:10 amAs far as we can see on the page, the adapter doesn't support J1850 (used by European Fords up to 2006 and US ones up to 2009). Other protocols (except specific like UBP) should work.gammax wrote:this is the link.

This was asked in this thread before but no one replied to him, so I'll also ask if anyone has tested the VCI-Mini J2534 for Toyota
with Forscan.

Re: UBP
This might be a dumb question (I'm still learning) but if one was to use a VCMII clone from china(assuming it functioned), would FORScan be able to see modules on the UBP buss then? 2004 Lincoln Town Car, still a couple of modules I can't access.FORScan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2015 10:55 amWell, from all J2534 adapters we saw only Ford VCMII does support UBP... And no, UBP is not supported for J2534 yet as testing of UBP is not successful yet (we had no chance yet to get a local access to a vehicle with UBP - as it is US market specific). If anyone has J2534 with UBP support and vehicle with UBP support, we are ready to cooperate (do necessary tests and implement normal support in FORScan).S117MC wrote:Will a J2534 adapter allow access modules on the UBP network?
