Look at the 2nd image in this thread. Run a DTC and look at the codes in the LH margin.

Hi,

Same story as many folks - only have one of two original keys for my 2015 Mazda 5

Went to ebay and bought a proper Mazda OEM blank key and had it cut in preparation for programming. Before taking the dangerous step of erasing the two stored keys, I wanted to check the blank. However, when I test it I get code 1260 Theft detected, Vehicle immobilized. I was looking for the 1601 code to know that the key was ok.

Curious if it's ok to go ahead in this case ?

Did you twist the ignition cylinder all the way to the "start" position with the blank PATS key inserted or did you stop at the "run" position?

Thinking that might have been your problem.

Thanks - will try that. Stopped at run rather turning all the way to start.

My OEM Mazda key showed code 1260 Theft detected but was able to be programmed perfectly!

FORScan is great!

OK...I put in my known good key, put the ignition in run and connected Forscan. Everything connected fine.

Then I turned the key off. Forscan said it was still connected, so I put in my uncut blank key and ran the DTC test. It gave me code B10D7:87-8.

According to the instructions above, that means the key is not compatible...however, just out of curiosity, I tried my known good key with the same procedure...ignition in run, connected forscan, turned ignition off, then ran DTC with the known good key and I got the same code.

I see in a comment above that you have to get the key cut before you can test it. Is that the problem? If so, what's the point in testing the key? If it's no good, I've already cut it.

Is my method of connecting forscan with the ignition on and then turning it off to test the new key valid?

How do you know that the DTC you saw with your known good key was from trying to start your vehicle with it and not a logged and saved DTC from your previous attempt with the new uncut key?

Clear the DTCs and I bet if afterwards if you try your known key again, there will be no DTC shown.

Hi I tried to program new key to my 2011 Mustang without succes. I get information "unable to add new key".
DTC show me these errors from the first page at the same time:
B10D7:51 instead of B1601 (PATS key is read OK but not added to the PATS memory yet)
B10D7:87 instead of B1600 (blank key is not recognized by PATS)

I am getting codes B10D7:05-48 and B10D7:51-08 on the key when trying to program a new key to the ignition of my 2014 F150.

B10D7:05-48 System programming Failures
B10D7:51-08 Not Programmed

What can be done. I was able to successfully get the Fob paired with the truck to where I can remote start the truck but cannot get the key to program
