My XLS came with 255/70/16 tyres. The formula to figure out the nominal circumference of the tyre size is ((255 * 70 * 0.02) + (16 * 25.4) ) * Pi(3.14159). Result is 2398.2898. Multiply that by the conversion factor of 96.7% and you get 2319mm rounded off.
My “As Built” HEX at address 7261201 is 0163 0910 510E. 0163 is the diff ratio and 0910 is the tyre size. If you take 0910 in hex and convert to decimal you get 2320mm so its within 1mm.
So 285/75/16 tyres equal 2533mm. 2533 converted to HEX is 09E5 So when then you write 0163 09E5 51XX into address 7261201 the speedo will be correct. Don’t worry about changing the xx Forscan will calculate the checksum for you.
This does bring up a DTC in the PCM which can be seen with Forscan but doesn’t seem to affect anything.
This is for the MK2 so your address will be different. Try searching your As Built data for "0910" or send me your VIN and I will see if I can work it out.
0163 0910 510E is the mk2 manual.
0175 0910 5120 is the mk2 auto.

Love this formula of your. Will have a look onto this in module and have a try. Since my wheel was 285/75/16 under Auto.
