Static regen failed half way through

Post by Glenandem » Fri Apr 19, 2019 5:00 pm

Ford transit 2.2 set it to do a static regen which it attempted and after about 20 mins it stopped and failed to complete?
Tried again and carried out a full regen after but why would it have failed first time?
Engine coolant was up to temp as it wouldn’t have started as I’ve had that message before but this was already racing engine up for 20 mins and up to 40-50%.
Also after I’ve carried out a regen do I need to reset the dpf parameters?

I've had the same on our transit 2012, it gets to 60% and fails; I ran it twice and both failed @ 60% noticed the soot level didn't change much either.

You dont need to do anything after a regen. In the second post, are you sure its soot your measuring and not ash. Also listen guys its dangerous to do a static regen. You can burn the car down. Much safer to do it on the highway.

How do I force a regen while I’m driving, I can only see the option to do a static regen?

I've seen people doing it by keeping the revs quite high like 2K before red line on long roads (make sure you're at operating temp), if your DPF is blocked you'll know about it; getting it into the high revs will be dog shit.

Disclaimer research this as it could/might damage your engine!!
