What is the 2017 model ford mondeo handbrake puller and droplet operation sequence. operation when changing the brake pad

1.Turn the start key on position
2.press the acceleration pedal
3.Push down on handbrake button
4.while you hold of those two, cycle the key position off and back it on position again.
5.Then you will see parking brake maintenance mode message. Now you can change brake pads.

To exit maintenance mode same procedure except 3rd step.

1.Turn the start key on position
2.press the acceleration pedal
3.You push up the handbrake button.
4.while you hold of those two, cycle the key position off and back it on position again.

what if you dont have a key type ignition? ive been trying to follow this same procedure just using the start/stop button and it doesnt work :(
