Ford transit mk7 2.2 115ps cylbal

Post by Flin » Wed Jan 23, 2019 7:55 pm

Could someone help me please

I’ve run the cylbal test and these are the results cylbal 1 - 0.129mg
Cylbal 2 1.146mg
Cylbal 3 1.051mg
Cylbal 4 - 2.332mg

1 & 4 are minus is this good or bad ?
The vehicle rattles from cold up to normal running temp “possible diesel knock” then when accelerating there’s like a pinking sound
Runs well loads of power no smoke no oil round injector seals on the rocker

The cylbal was done at idle

Any help or suggestions gratefully excepted thanks

Hi Flin, I was just about to post the exact question then came across yours these are my results:

FRP-V: 1.37
FRP KPA: 22700.0
CYLBAL_1MG: -3.768
CYLBAL_2MG: 2.949
CYLBAL_3MG: 0.783
CYLBAL_4MG: 0.037

sorry for the hijack but it saves pointless posts mines the mk7 2.2 85 transit, looking at the difference in are readings id imagine my repair may be more costly than yours. if anyone could help me and Flin out im sure we'd both massively appreciate it, many thanks in advance.

do an ecu reset and let it relearn the values then recheck the levels may also be worth putting some injector cleaner threw if you havent already , should help with the knocking and pinking sounds as well . if the values return the same levels it sounds like new injector time
i am the same as you just a forscan user still learning .

Hi andyfocus

I have done pcm reset pump learn injector learn inlet clean re gasket. It’s only 50 miles in to the leans seems to have more power and pull through the gears better but has done nothing at all for the knocking. I think injectors are worn but which ones ? What is a good set of numbers to have. I have red on here that mk6 should be around 1.400 1.500 then on a transit forum was told “ the higher numbers are bad ids tells you this “ so god knows
Don’t want to spend £500 on 4 injectors. seals. Clamp bolts. Oil and filter change for it to still be the same

The only way i know for sure if injectors are good or bad, is to do a leak off test. The one with pipes and bottles.

Did another pump & injector learn yesterday
Injector learn went through no problem. Started the pump learn and as soon as I started the engine a box popped up with a code in P0268B
Googled it and it seems it’s a problem with cylinder 3 injector or wiring
So I take it that’s the 2nd cylinder from the timing chain cos I’m sure firing order is 1342 correct if I’m wrong

ignore timing cylinders like that , engine is 1 /2 /3 /4 not firing order 1&3/2&4 .

so should be 2 from gear box or 3rd from timing chain ,
it says short to earth but could also be a faulty injector , if one goes it tries to sort its self out by adjusting the others to keep emissions down and engine running as best as possible .
