RCM crash flag reset failed Mondeo MK4 2007

Post by viking560 » Thu Dec 13, 2018 3:57 pm

Today tryed to clear crash data from RCM module Mondeo Mk4. Started service function and after a coupe of seconds the procedure was cancelled at about 1%. Im running the latest version of Forscan and using original ELS27 adapter. Also tried with very good ELM327 from OHP. No sucess. I have sucessfully cleared crash data on several Mondeo Mk5 in the past and on some other Fords also. This was the first Mondeo MK4. Maybe I must try to downgrade Forscan version as the function worked on other cars at least 4-5 months ago. Did anybody had same problem on Mondeo MK4? Any ideas?

Tried some older Forscan versions. No success. Seems like crash flag reset doesnt work on that car. I dont think RCM is completely locked on my car. As when I start function, it says attempt 1 or something like that. I think it means I have all 5 resets left. After 2 seconds service procedure fails.

well if u was in uk and close by i could have removed the chip and cleared it manually or used ids to clear it . thier are a few places you can send the rcm to and have it done think its around £50 to have it done.
have all the airbags and faults been fixed ?

Thanks for replay Andyfocus. Im not from UK. I`ll send the module to my my friend who has equipment to clear crash data. I was hoping to do the job with Forscan to leave the money in my pocket:) Anyway, Forscan is a good and useful tool. Hope the developers keep going.

yeah its always upsetting when you dont get to do it yourself , get that feeling of unfulfillment of not learning how to do it and doing it :(
hope you get it sorted .
