2011 Mondeo - constant DPF regeneration, cannot reset DPF_SOOT_LD

Hello,

I've searched the forum and found similar issues, but none of them provided a solution that worked in my case.

My problem (with Mondeo 2011 TDCi 163HP) is that engine is in constant DPF regeneration mode.
The DPF itself has been removed and cleaned manually a few days ago. Also, the fuel vaporiser has been changed to a new one.
Afterwards I've used FORscan's service option: Reset DPF remembered values.

I can observe following in FORscan:
- DPF_LOAD: changes from 10% to 25% as I drive, but in general stays low
- DPF_SOOT_LD: is constantly showing 300% (reset option does not clear it)
- DP_DPF: from 1 on idle up to 10 under load
- CATEMP2: constantly around 560-570 degrees

I assume that this behavior (constant regeneration) is caused by the high DPF_SOOT_LD value, but I'm not able to reset it using FORscan.
Maybe I should perform some other service procedures in FORscan after cleaning the DPF manually and changing the vapouriser?
Or maybe this can be caused by some faulty sensor?

Also, is there any other PID (apart from CATEMP2) that will show DPF temperature more accurately?

Thanks,
Darek.

What i do after removal and clean, is use the option- dpf filter replaced.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Is this an option in FORscan? I cannot seem to find it in the service actions.

might have seen it on other software. If you see a soot load of 300% after cleaning, the differ/pressure/sensor must be reading wrong, or the pipes are stuffed. I have come across the sensor with water inside the pipe inlets. Get an air blower on and blow em out.

Ok. Thanks for the tip. Will have a look at those sensor pipes.
But I wonder if they can indeed be blocked since the DPF_DP pid shows normal (I assume) values like 1 in idle and up to 10 under load. As far as I understand, the DPF_DP pid shows the exhaust gasses preassure difference between DPFs entry and exit

I have a same situation. Dpf been cleaned, new vaporizer, new pressure sensor and new pipes been fitted and car keep doing regen. Showing 300% soot.

Any luck please advice.

Hi,

I haven't checked the pressure sensor pipes yet, but next week I'll try to use different software to try to reset the DPF_SOOT_LD.
Will let you know about the progress.

Darek.

I've tried to reset the DPF_SOOT_LD using different software, but it's still 300%.
I'll now try to check the pressure sensor pipes. If they're clean then I guess I'll have to replace the sensor itself. But I wonder if it's actually faulty if the DP_DPF pid displays correct (I assume) values.

As I think soot % is a calculated value by different sensors. Once it has stored the max level. So it has to be some special reset. Which I am trying to find. I have changed the pressure sensor and pipes and fuel vaporizer. Let's see how it goes in your situation.

One more thing you can stop regen through taking the fuse out. And when soot reach 100% you can put fuse back again for 10 to 15 minutes.
