Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?
Re: Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?
Sorry for not replying sooner. I specifically went for an ELS27 because it stated full support for both MS- and HS-CAN.
There's a good post on here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6142
This has a long table of various adapters, compatible protocols etc. The key is having an STN11xx range chipset which has built in support for protocol switching; more details about MS- and HS-CAN switching (or devising your own for an older dongle) are also on the forscan forum: viewtopic.php?t=4

I have my new ELM327 Modified adapter, but I still don't see a service procedure for bleeding the abs brakes. Any ideas?

I have an obdmx+ adapter as recommended by forscan but I do not see the abs bleed option anywhere???
What am I doing wrong?

As @mplieb commented to me via PM (and which I only just saw, apologies again mplieb!) FORScan doesn't yet have ABS bleed implemented for his model vehicle. May be the same for you...
Do you see MSCAN and HSCAN protocols supported in the FORScan Modules page when you're live connected to the vehicle?

Re: Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?
Purchased a modified ELM327 to get to MS CAN bus just so I could perform ABS activation for brake bleeding on my 2013 F150 and do not see the option to run the routine anywhere in FORScan.
MS CAN bus is working, FORScan prompts to switch from HS to MS during initial read and I can see a few more modules added to the list.
Not sure what vehicle OP has but strange how other 2013 MY Fords seem to have this feature enabled but not working on F150/F250 yet. Curious if it will ever show up in FORScan or what other options there are besides taking to dealer.
@mplieb - what did you end up doing?

Re: Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?
Sorry for the delay in seeing this.
After contacting the Forscan team directly, they said FORSCAN doesn't necessarily have all modules for all vehicles, and my vehicle (2002 F150 XLT) doesn't support the modified interface. They actually wrote a module for me to use to bleed the brakes using the old interface, and I tested it for them.

Re: Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?
I'm having an issue with a spongy pedal and done research to find that possibly I have air in the lines, or a stuck open valve in the ABS pump/block. Does anyone know if there is a way to bleed the ABS using Forscan for my 2013 Taurus SHO?
Re: Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?
I did read through that thread, and the links inside it. I still see no way to activate any of the ABS valves or pump for my 2013 Taurus using the Forscan software. Am I missing something?f-wolf wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 2:19 amHave a read here: https://www.taurusclub.com/threads/abs ... .285849/
