dtc codes-- circuit short to ground.. or open

Post by JimBob » Fri Aug 17, 2018 3:04 am

Hello, Jim here... I have a '13 F150 Platinum.

125k miles + or -

can anyone make sense of this...? to my understanding, I have a wire shorting out. Which could be the reason why the heated seats don't work in the back? Possibly the reason my step on the driver side seams like the sensor is faulty. I say that because I can manually put it out and back in. but when on auto it takes forever to go back in when I close the door. (I maintain them as well as a guy can. Which means no pressure washing or hosing or water at all really. I simply wipe them down if i feel it is needed. but i always spray silicone lube on them and actually seafoam penetrating lube works fantastic to keep them operating smooth)

anyways, I will clear the codes and see which ones come back and update later. but i am sure that the circuit short to ground is there

Thanks,

Jim

Not sure if F-150's had this issue, but I know some Ford vehicles had the ground pins burn up in the connector for the heated seat:
