dpf check

Post by vectra » Fri Aug 10, 2018 8:09 pm

Hi,
I have a 2017 Mondeo Mk5 2.0/150 diesel and do a lot of town driving/short stop start trips. I would be curious as to how my DPF is coping with this as my car appears to have got heavier on diesel than when I first bought it.

Can anyone provide me with a step by step guide using Forscan on how I can do this?
or even do a forced re gen with forscan if needed?

Much appreciated.

On the other hand,
Is it advisable to use or NOT use any additive to the diesel to clean a dpf?

Thank you.

Just went out to my car there and not sure have I looked at the right thing or not but on screen gave me readings of the following

DPF Load 68%

DPF soot 35%

Car is on 8993 kms

Does this sound right?

I feel the car is getting heavier on fuel constantly.

When I bought it 12 months ago it gave me approx 53 mpg on a 200 km trip
On that same trip now with higher grade diesel I am only getting 49mpg
42mpg with the same diesel as I used when I bought it.

On a trip last Sunday at around 90kph I only got 46mpg with the higher grade fuel.

Car is a 2017 ~ 2.0/150 Mondeo diesel manual.
