Mazda CX-5 2.2 SkyActiv-D - DPF filling fast

Post by popielasty »

Hello,

I have some problems with fast filling my DPF (regen after 50-60 km loops) in my 2014 Mazda CX-5 2.2 (164000 km stand). I recorded some logs from FORScan Lite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paJ0fl1XKJg

You can see in 1:30 strange thing - PM_ACC jump from 0.8 to 3.6 value. Any idea what can cause this? Faulty sensor? I've done cleaning of intake (intake manifold, EGR - it was clean, also no oil in intercooler).

Regeneration process of DPF is fast - it take about 15 km to empty DPF (so imo it's not DPF problem...).

I'm also attaching FORScan log (zip archive). It show whole regen process, then normal driving and PM_ACC value jump (about 2200 second mark on attached log).

I had the some problem....

PM_ACC not jump , just synchronize with PM_ACC_DSD at that time...

so the problem is why PM_ACC_DSD increase so quickly ......

PM_ACC_DSD calculate form which sensor on engine ?

My car regen after 50-60 km loops....

changed 4 fuel injectors and then increased to 100kM

changed fuel injectors and ECU at the same time become normal value (about 300kM)

but auto regen distance come back to about 80kM again after 3 month.

Any one can help me?

or to know How PM_ACC_DSD come from?

Hello,

finally i found some one with same issue... How much kilometers your car have done yet? My have 170000 km.

Some sort of fix this frequent regen is to blind EGR valve. It will allow you DPF to regen passively, after blinding I can get 150-200km beteween regens. But it's not a final fix...

Can some of dev team tell us more about PM_ACC PM_ACC_DSD values?

Mazda service manual seems to be the best reading for it:

I just went through this issue and it ended up being some bad diesel I picked up. Took a good 2000klms to work it's way through because I kept having to fill up at half tank intervals because of the isolated locations I was travelling in...Australian outback.

I also monitored the exhaust temp and every time it did a regen I put it in manual 4th gear to increase the exhaust. It added another 100c and made the regen happen a little quicker. Not sure if it actually helped or not but i had plenty of things to try while on the road.

Some sort of fix this frequent regen is to blind EGR valve.
Hello Popielasty,

your issue shows that engines don't like EGR  .

But how did you blind the egr valve on 2.2 scyactiv diesel?

According to the explanation https://euroesi.mazda.co.jp/esicont/eu_ ... 61400.html, skyactiv engine has two egr valves: one for hot exhaust (EGR cooler bypass valve) and another for cooled exhaust (EGR valve). Did you blind them both? Did you some ECU programming in order to disable this valves and malfunction lamp on dashbord?

According to your log-data, your engine has hat 420 regenerations in 164350 km. It makes on avarage 391 km interval bitween regenerations. Can it bee true? Usually skyactiv diesel engines have every 200-250 pdf-regenrations.

Hello everybody,

I'm stuck with the same issue on my 2012 cx-5 175HP with only 50 000km
The mechanics already change dpf sensors (three of them), then the dpf itself and the regeneration remain between 30 and 60 km.

log here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7PcP7Xi4tw&t=19s

I don't trust in a diesel quality issue as the problem occurs in France and in Martinique where i live.

Popielasty and Aldrich, how did you fix the issue ?

regards

In torque add another PID - PM_ACC_DSD and see that when regeneration will end, the value of this PID will not go to 0. Can you confirm this?

Hello, spektr,

PM_ACC_DSD added, i'll record that during the next regeneration, can you please explain which value we are supposed to see on a healthy engine ? and in a faulty engine ?
