2011 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 - My AB data findings

Post by ksanislo » Fri Apr 21, 2017 7:52 pm

Since other people might be interested in mapping the AB data to features, I'll document my findings. Of particular interest is the ability to shut off TPMS alerts. Many people ask about this, but nobody seems to know how to do it.

The top high bit in 726-01-01 controls DRL on and off:
726-01-01 9600 0000 00xx <-- Daylight Running Lamps on (Canadian mode, low beam on when parking brake off.)
726-01-01 1600 0000 00xx <-- Daylight Running Lamps off (USA mode, headlights switched via dash control.)

The 720-01-01 block controls gauge cluster features, unsure of the specifics still:
720-01-01 3E01 xx <-- Standard gauge cluster features enabled:
720-01-01 0001 xx <-- Disabled TPMS, Traction control, TC Disabled indicator, Belt-Minder, perhaps more?

On my truck, the IC module features were disabled by a previous owner. I used FORscan to get the TPMS/TC indicators back to stock, more trial and error will be needed to determine which bits go to which features. I'll come back and update this thread after I play with things, if I learn more.

Here's everything that I've learned so far:

720-01-01, Instrument Cluster, first byte:
0x20 - Traction control indicator enable (one of two, toggle together)
0x10 - Traction control indicator enable (one of two, toggle together)
0x08 - Belt minder enable
0x04 - TPMS enable
0x01 - 2WD only (ON to Disable 4x4 support)

726-01-01 Body Control Module, first byte:
0x80 - Daylight Running Lamps enable
0x04 - Fog Lamps enable
