EGR value reset procedure

Post by wdnone » Fri Oct 24, 2014 9:06 pm

Hi.

Today I tried to execute EGR value adaptation reset procedure (new egr).

As I remember, requests I got were:
- Presets: car is not running
- Wait 5 sek
- Turn off power. If engine speed is to high, wait until it is idle
- wait
- Turn power on
- Wait 20 sec
- Done

My issue is - when program asks to turn power off it is not started at all - why I get request to wait until it is idle ? Have I done anything wrong ?

The result is, that when engine is started I still get 99.2% EGR ERR value and ... I do not know whether reset procedure went wrong or my car is not behaving properly.

Regards

This is universal message that is displayed in both KOEO (engine is off) and KOER (engine is idle) modes. The second part of it is related to the KOER mode only. We added this part because in some situations engine RPM may be high (e.g. during static regeneration) and must return to idle before shut off. But because this message is used in KOEO mode as well, you see it for EGR reset function.

The function is successful if FORScan reported OK/success. As for EGR_ERR 99.2%, it may be OK if EGR
is out of PCM control as discussed here:

hi wdnone it seems you have the same type egr valve as me, would it be possible to show a photo of your egr pids when the car is at idle, it would help me determine if my egr was faulty or not. thanks.

Hi.

I must remember to make photo next time.
As I remember at idle speed EGR_PCT was 8-12% while EGR_ERR was stuck at 99.2 %. When engine is accelerated/decelerated EGR_PCT increases and EGR_ERR varies between -50 - +50 %. I have no idea if it is right but in my opinion engine works properly.

P.S.
I have changed EGR because I got DTC error code P1335. After EGR replacement error code did not appear(I hope it is not temporary situation).
