throttle position

Post by william » Wed Sep 03, 2014 3:53 pm

hi, the pid for intake air throttle position on my car gives a value (ct) when the car is at idle, a quick half snap of the accelerator and it changes to (pt) then back to (ct), a quick full snap of the accelerator and it changes to (wot) then back to (ct), I think the abbreviation (wot) is wide open throttle but I am not sure what (ct) and (pt) stand for. any info on the abbreviations much appreciated. thanks.

thinks for the reply, I am surprised the I was getting the value closed throttle when the car was at idle, I thought a would only see closed throttle when I switched the car off as the throttle valve is to prevent engine run on and shudder when engine switched off.

Whenever your foot is off the pedal, you're at closed throttle.
The idle is handled by the IAC (idle air control) valve.
