Any luck with Read Factory Keyless Entry code?

Post by mikeluscher159 » Sat Oct 15, 2016 1:46 am

Hello,

I tried the new feature "Read Factory Keyless Entry code" on my MY06 USDM Ford Taurus

And from what I gather, it's providing the wrong code

The code it gives is way off, and doesn't match either the code card in the owner's manual, or the identical code printed on the GEM

Now my car doesn't have a keypad (But has a "High Level" GEM from the factory), so I can't officially test it, but it's well known that the code on the GEM is the de facto factory code, no debate about it

I have a co worker with a 2004 Lincoln LS he got used, and is missing the code, but it has a keypad on the door, so It'll be a perfect guinea pig to test on

Anyone else have similar experiences?

I actually attempted to pull this code today in my 2011 Expedition EL XL. The code it gave me was apparently incorrect as it didn't work on the keypad. My initial thought was one of the keys wasn't working. I used the keypad test and all keys returned the correct values in the software. Seems this function is broken.

Check to make sure you are running the most current version, I know it didn't work on the Panther ( Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Town Car ) until the last update. Now it works like a charm here, I will verify on my F150 when I find a way/adaptor that can read the UBP bus.

I know this is older thread, but can anyone tell me how to do a keypad test? 2011 Explorer. Keypad lights up, but doesn’t unlock doors with factory code. Will lock sometimes using 7/8-9/0.

On my 2014 F Superduty the code is on a sticker on the module that is under the kick panel on the passenger side. Should be able to verify from there.
