Test start parameters for 6.0 Diesel Injector Test

Post by reedgmi » Mon Aug 25, 2014 12:55 am

Can anyone tell me the vehicle test conditions to start the Injector Test on the 6.0 Powerstroke Diesel?
Sometimes I can get the test to run, sometimes it doesn't, with the error message "vehicles test conditions not met"

As answered by email:

Basic conditions for self-tests (engine is off or idle, vehicle is not moving, parking brake is applied etc) should be displayed by FORScan before the test is started. However the exact conditions are some kind of problem, because there is no information about it. Our experience says that ECU may check the following additional conditions for injectors' tests on diesel models:

- ECT (engine coolant temperature) is between 65-95 degrees (Celsius)
- IAT (intake air temperature) is between 15-65 degrees (Celsius)
- FLT (fuel temperature) is between 30-60 degrees (Celsius)
