Transit Custom 2.2 125PS Injector Pilot Learn

Post by toys4x4boys »

2014
Transit Custom 2.2 125PS

Recently fitted 4 new injectors.

Did an injector pilot adaptations reset.
Then went on to do a pilot learn.

Seems to start off fine, revs the motor to 4000 rpm and back to 1500 rpm

Eventually shows 100% on progress bar, then drops back to 50% and goes through the cycle again.

I let it go through 4 times, took just under an hour, but it then carried on.

i eventually had to turn the van off.

How long should it take ?
Is the above normal ?
Should I see some other form of progress marker ?

Cheers
Graeme

2014 or 2015? Your post and user configuration do not match.
Post screen images with the Module networks connected and all faults.
Take images of the old injectors and note the type.
Take images of the new injectors and note the type.
Post all the images.

At idle, what is the specified FRP and actual FRP.
FRP. psi
FRP_DSD, psi
Post that image as well.

Did anyone at least enter the calibration from each new injector?
Were the calibrations entered into the correct cylinder?

Fuel Rail Values
The idle pressure should be close to 240 bar
The cranking pressure should be close to 320 bar
Your values are very close
FRP 22420.0 kPa = 224.2 bar
FRPD 22000.0 kPa= 220.0 bar

On some and not all models, the mechanical or electronic parking brake needs to be set before adaptations.
Make sure there are no faults recorded.
FORScan should have the option to clear all learned values. Perform that task.
Exit FORScan and cycle the ignition OFF to ON and enter FORScan again.
The engine should be at operating temperature before performing this task.
If you have the correct software / firmware in the PCM, the procedure can take 45 minutes or longer for the injector pilot adaptation relearn.

The best advice is to access Ford etis for the current instructions but be aware you need to follow IDS instructions but they should match FORScan.
If you accessed Ford etis with your VIN, save a copy of your specific instructions and post them to match.

THanks

Did a clear all adaptations.

Then a pilot learn again, took just over an hour to complete.

Much better sounding engine now.

Cheers
