If this model has ESP, all the data can be read at the ABS controller.

"The sensor should be close to 0.0 degrees when centered." How can i find out and change it?
I did not find any scheme of ESP sensor / module locations
Could the shock absorber be cause?

I will probably take it to Ford dealer.
Probably the most sensible thing you have posted to date!

a person is looking for something more than there actually is
people answering/commenting on something they're not fully informed about.
Two most common reasons for long posts and useless numbers of pages comments.

ECU does not stand for ELECTRICAL control unit. It's ENGINE! control unit.
Not all ST170s have ESP. And if someone wants to retrofit it, its more than adding the module (the entire abs pump assembly actually) and a switch. The brake booster and the brake pump infront of it are actually VERY different and there's another sensor on the pump unit.
There IS connection to all modules on the ST170 but there is only limited things to do with it. It's for DTC reading for sure and some have 1-2 'calibration' modes (like the ESP), nothing more. This is what i mean by 'looking for something more than actually is'. So make more research before asking why something cant be done on this or that car and look for troubles in weird places like communication protocols...
