Key On Engine Off/Key On Engine running

Post by 2007 MZR-CD » Wed Jul 16, 2014 2:27 am

I know these tests are available and I do use them. These tests run and are completed very quickly.

My question is = is it possible for the software to list what is being tested?

KOEO and KOER tests are a "blackbox" type of tests. It means that their logic is hardcoded in ECU and completely hidden. Diagnostic equipment can only run these functions and get result of their execution. Exact list of actions is unknown and depends on model. For example, for pre-CAN Ford gasoline engines, KOEO test is performed for just few seconds, and operator can hear sounds produced by different relays and actuators (such as fuel pump). KOER is performed for 1-2 minutes and changes engine RPM.

We agree that KOEO and KOER tests normally should not finish so quickly (as we can see in the logs you sent us previously). However, at this moment we don't see any problem in FORScan that would cause such an odd behaviour (in other words, FORScan performs the functions properly).
