Ok so I have downloaded the latest FORScan version and getting ready to perform the adaptive learning to see if it will help with the shuddering issue. Service manual instructions have the following steps listed prior to adaptive learning:

"Update the PCM/Transmission Control Module (TCM) calibration. Calibration files may be obtained at Professional Technician Society (PTS) website. Independent Technicians refer to www.motorcraft.com.
The scan tool checks to see if the file is present on the scan tool. If the calibration file is present, the technician may proceed with downloading the file to the PCM/ TCM . If the file is not present, the scan tool will need to be connected to the server to download the file onto the scan tool."

It goes on to give instructions to reprogram the PCM/TCM.

Is this necessary and if so does FORScan perform this function?

I have tries doing a reset on the DPS6 of my 2105 Focus SE several times with no avail.
I had the clutch and TCM replaced by the dealer about 5K kms ago and i'm back to the jerking and slipping clutch symptoms.
I am using Forscan with ELM 325 and everything seems to work well until I get to the 'Perform Clutch Adaptive Learning' procedure.
I get as far as ' (ERR) [12:20:48.744] Touch Point Learn for Shaft A - ERR ' and then the process interrupts.
i have turned off all accessories and have a battery charger hooked up.
I attached a log if any one care to look at it and give me an idea of what might be going wrong.

thank you

Make sure you are holding the steady the whole time. Also before you try this procedure try doing a BdyCM (body control module) reset. Let me know if that works ok.

Make sure you are holding the steady the whole time. Also before you try this procedure try doing a BdyCM (body control module) reset. And you might want to disconnect the battery charger before doing this but make sure the battery is charged well. I'm not sure about that adapter but it might need to be in FTDI mode in the settings or the TCM will be back in limp mode after a few key cycles. Let me know if that works ok. Also after this is done the TCM is going to be in some sort of learning mode for about 250 miles and during that time don't floor it just drive nice and smooth or some DTC'S will come on and your car will be in that limp mode where it doesn't shift right.

Make sure no electrical loads are causing the alternator to start charging to cover an increased amperage draw.
The clutch learn depends on reading an RPM and engine load change when the Clutch Pressure plates touch their respective driven disc and load the engine and reduce the engine RPM to a pre specified level, right at the friction engagement point. This requires a steady RPM to be held in order for the Learn procedure to find this point in the travel of the Clutch Step motors! Any Amperage demand on the alternator will disrupt the steady RPM level set by the Learn Procedure when you hold the throttle to the Floor, hence you will get the "Engine Torque Disrupted Error!

You can read more about what this procedure does here: https://ford.oemdtc.com/1514/dps6-clutc ... ansmission

One user in the opening post of this thread reported having to disconnect the female Steering rack connection but he was also bridging two wires in the connection and I would be leery about doing this as there are fused live Battery + connections in both those connectors and the user did not specify which two he had bridged.
I would be more inclined to try pulling the fuses to the Power steering control module(Battery Junction Box MEGA1 fuse80amp and Fuse F40 5Amp) and try running the procedure and seeing if it completes and then plugging the fuses back in and clearing the Codes set after!

It could be that If you so much as touch the steering wheel or ease up ever so slightly on the brake and the brake lights flicker or ease up slightly on the throttle during this procedure or something rocks or moves the car and triggers the steering motor or vehicle dynamics/traction control or just you shifting in the seat could trigger the alternator to cover a demand from the steering rack motor or anything that is adaptive like automatic head lights or DRL that causes a demand for amperage from the alternator. Turning the head lights full on on and leaving them on during this procedure could also stabilize the alternator output to a steady stable load.

Hope that gives you some more Ideas?

Thanks for your help on this. I got around to running it again after a reset on the BdyCM. It seemed to work alot better this time, ran through all the test successfully except at the very end after ' power down complete' I get a "service procedure interrupted" message. Tried it a few times with always the same results.

So I am not sure if the resets and adaptive learnings are taking place or not.

I was going to attach the log , but looks like I accidentally overwritten it.

Another question : when they ask for WOT what rpm are they talking about? I was using 3500 and holding it there.

Thanks again
