2017 f150 stuck in park

Post by daluder » Thu Feb 13, 2020 11:39 pm

Turn on car, press brake and can't get out of park. This happened after I had no battery for 20 minutes. for now I am manually releasing the park shift with the toggle underneath.

Brake lights work
fuse is good
Forscan brk_shift inactive then I press on brake and it doesn't change to active. if I control from forscan and click active actuator will activate and I am able to get out of park.

Am I able to reprogram it with forscan?

Thanks

you may have to go threw the re-inialise module /parking break sequence , sorry not sure how to do it as i purposely buy cars without electronic parking breaks as in my personal opion they are very dangerous if not maintain correctly and you have no control over the hand break when needed . (partial application of the parking break when needed in emergencys ), manual hand breaks have saved many lives wheres as electronic ones have killed people.
i am the same as you just a forscan user still learning .
The search function is there for a reason use it.
no you can no longer pm me with your 1 or 0 posts so dont try.

My truck has a foot parking brake. So that means I don’t have electronics e brake correct?
