2012 Ford Focus PCM/ECM replacement and PAT's parameter reset

Post by jwillman » Fri Nov 22, 2019 3:34 pm

I am running v2.3.26 with extended license and a HS/MS CAN compatible adapter.

My son had a mishap and took out the ECM/PCM and some wiring. I got a refurbed pre-programmed (VIN) PCM and new wiring harnesses and have it back together.

According to what I have read the PAT's system requires a "parameter reset" because the ECU/PCM was replaced.

I used Forscan to erase old keys and reload original ford keys. Forscan shows 2 keys loaded. I see a "module initialization" function under PAT's. Is that Forscan speak for "parameter reset"?

Right now the keys will energize the car but no crank in the start position and no dash indication of security issues.

I have no check engine light and the PCM, TCM, BCM and IPC all test good with sole exception of a lamp off IPC code of U0140 about BCM communication lost.
