Hi, This relates to my camper van Ford 2005 2.4L DI Duratorq. When driven for an hour or so & stopping the PATS immobiliser kicks in when wanting to set off again, if left, sometimes for a few days it then starts & runs normally again & if shortish journeys doesn't cause any issues or PATS immobilier to operate at all. DTC's are P1664, P1564 & B2141 & I believe that this means the fuel pump is the problem, albeit it's possible that the main issue is the ECM on the pump which to remove/repair is non particularly successful so the question is can Forscan 'reprogramme' the pump ECU or flash it's NVM or update it's software or whatever so that the ECM operates correctly to remove what is an ECU problem rather than a mechanical/pump problem or am I missing something?
A bad battery can cause all these problems. Get it checked.
Cheers Denbo, will do. Actually one time when staying overnight, after the PATS had kicked in I put the battery on charge at the campsite & in the morning it worked, however when trying this at home charging the battery didn't make a difference....but battery is pretty old, I've had the van 5 years & not changed it so still worth properly load testing. Will update any results.
Yes a 5 year old battery will be on its last legs.
All sorted, reman pump from ebay not needing coding (virginised), no fault codes at all
