Re: How to use PATS Module Initialization function

I have a 20112 F150 that I bought second hand in June of 2019. The unlock did not work on the key/fob. I purchased after market keys and had the cut at Home Depot for less than $5.00 together. I then programmed both new keys by the standard method. This worked great!

Then I found out I could add remote restart by purchasing 11 thru 14 F - 150 OEM Genuine Ford remote Starter Kit from Amazon. It is plug and play, comes with 2 new keys for the remote start and installation took less than 10 minutes. I found a video on YouTube that helped.

After programming the 2 new keys, all 6 keys started the truck, GREAT! However the 4 old keys all worked on the fob, but the new ones didn't, I guess there is a limit to fobs, but not admin keys? I never did find a way to just delete 2 keys, but I did find the PATS service function in FORscan. This service procedure saved me from having to go to the dealer and pay big bucks.
Also the Forscan helped me to program my new Trailer Brake Control and the Remote Start.

I'm only a beginner here but what I have read is:
You can only program 4 fobs and if you want to delete keys you need to delete all the keys and then reprogram the 4 new ones.
But like I say I'm a newbie here and just learning..... So if I'm wrong don't shoot me down....

I have a 2015 expedition with eco boost and I am trying to program a new key, but I do not see the PATS function in FORScan for the vehicle when I am connected. I am new to this but not new to programming stuff with computers. Does anybody have any suggestions?

This is a complementory article, so please read the base one first:

Link not correct.
Not sure if this is "How to program PATS" at viewtopic.php?f=6&t=839.

Would be nice to give examples for Mazda, too. Thanks.

HI everyone. Forgive me if I have missed the answer but I'm ready to set fire to my mondy! To be as brief as possible, I have a 2005 mondeo Mk3 2.0 tdci 130, owned by me for 8 months, was former taxi before me, so it had all the usual issues related to poor upkeep etc. I got stuck into the injectors and turbo etc after being informed they were all f____d, only to find out they just needed some love 😍. During all this, I pulled my fuel rail sensor plug and obviously this dropped all my settings. I successfully programmed 2 keys back in and they are recognised. Could only get one to work at first, then realised the label was still attached to the bottom of the button cell 😂. Removed it, ran it through the key programmer, and it recognised both keys. I exited forscan and tried my keys, no joy. When ignition is turned on there is usually a beep, I'm getting no beep, immobiliser light is fixed on and dash goes blank. I have checked the under bonnet fuses and they seem good. I have no idea how to check relays except by pulling a replacing. I have no idea if it needs initializing or how it's done. This is the part I'm stuck on. I have the updated and extended version of forscan which I'm just starting to learn. I have no idea where the initialization process is and I can't seem to find it in the posted guide. You guys have been awesome on this and I apologise for asking for more. I'm out my depth with this.
