help me understand P2458-21

Post by Gabi4175 » Fri Dec 29, 2017 8:20 pm

ok so every time i delete P2458-21 i get it back after long trips over 60km. the dpf pressure it's 0.3 kpa idle and max 5kpa at 3000rpm. So does this error really means because i doubt that the filter is full but the pressures inside are this low

Hello,

I've replace my DPF by a new one on my Mazda 3 1.6 MZ-CD and i have the same delfaut code. I've check the DPF additive it's OK, check all the sensor and connector : OK
But when i delete the delfaut, it comes some km after.. DPF regen every 150km it's so borring, my car consume a lot.. Can't find a solution !
Have you find a way ?

Thank's for a reply ! :( ;)

Hello MJRVR !

Yes, when i replace the DPF i've proced to a DPF Reset in Forscan, and with IDS Mazda one week later because the delfaut code was were again ! But no change, i've check all sensor, hose, clean DPF sensor (on the DPF) but always the code. My DPF say 0.1-0.3kPA at idle and max 3kPa when i drive (acceleration) is it good ?
Check the additiv DPF is ok too. Just refill at 65 000km
The new DPF have been replace at 97 045km, now i'm at 99 125km.

When I detect a P2458 or similar on Fcus/C-Max 1.6 , I replace :
1) The olf DPf , whit a regenerated DPF ( the same model )If necessary .
2) The dpf sensor of pressure , or at least I try another who works well from another car .
3) Clean ( or replace if necessary ) the EGR valve ALL THE TIME .
4) Clen the intake manifold , it is possible and all kind of links to it .
5) Clean the intercooler and its pipes .
6) Reset the DPF and EGR parameters whit FORSCan

In this mode the car works well.

Hello loscalpello !

Thank's for your help !

1) For me the DPF have been replaced with a new one now there is 2 000km
2) The DPF pressure looks good like 0.1-0.2 kPa in idle, and 3kPa max at 3000tr/s !
3) I've clean the EGR yesterday but i don't know if the values looks good, can you give me good values ?
4) I don't have yet clean my intake manifold but maybe near
5) All the pipes, intercooler, ... are clean !
6) I've reset DPF and EGR with Forscan yesterday

But i'm thinking than it's the EGR the problem ! But for this i don't know who are the good values for a working EGR. I'll post a pic about my Forscan Data !
The P2458 come after my DPF try to regen.. :(

PS : i've made a topic for me http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6002 there is my Forscan statistic :?

Look at egr in live data with engine running, take note of value. Rev engine momentarily, value should go to 0.00 for a second. This shows egr closed. If not fit new egr, cleaning seldom works.
