Hood pin enable ford edge

Post by normsforscan » Mon Nov 06, 2017 6:30 pm

Hello everyone, I'm doing a aftermarket remote start in my 2017 ford edge and I need to activate the factory hood pin.
Anyone be able to walk me through that with the forscan? Thanks!

Just finished it on my 2017 edge. The hood switch is in the body control module. You don't have to change any codes in the " as built". You can go into the bcm that doesn't say the "as built". When you open it, it will list things to just enable or disable. The hood switch says not present. I changed it to present and backed out after it was programmed. I popped the hood and it said hood ajar so I knew it worked. My remote start works now, it wouldn't work until the hood switch was enabled. I know this was an old post but I came across it while I was pulling my hair out trying to learn about forscan so I can turn on the hood switch like the company said to that I bought the remote start from. Hope this helps if you didn't already fix it.
