2017 Super Duty - Wish List

Post by Bull30213 » Sun Apr 01, 2018 6:15 am

First of all thanks to the authors of this program and the folks on the F150 forum for the detailed spreadsheets. I've done all the mods I can with the data that's's out there now, but I still have a 'wish list' of configurations I haven't found yet. I'm posting them here in case somebody has figured any of them out, and as I keep experimenting on my own truck I'll update this post with what I can find that works.
For reference this is on a 2017 F350 Lariat 6.7 SYNC3.

Enable auto-folding mirrors. SOLVED!

Enable Nav entry at any speed. SOLVED!

Vehicle Speed Limiter - change from 152 km/h

OEM spot lights (in mirrors) - disable turning off at 5mph, enable at any speed.

Cargo light - disable turning off at 5mph, enable at any speed.

Enable rear view camera to be turned on manually (my '17 Explorer has a button for this, my F350 does not).

Enable rear view camera at any speed.

Change timeout value for cargo & bed lights.

Change steering wheel media buttons (fwd / back) to function as Seek instead of Preset Skip. The hard buttons on the center console behave this way, the steering wheel buttons should be able to as well.

Enable cruise control to command high idle. Larger trucks and some Super Duty trucks can do this from the factory, I think it is tied in to the PTO functions.

Display inside (cabin) air temp on Sync 3 display.

I've got a 17 DRW F350 - mainly looking to enable the aux camera while in motion. I noticed that the newest sync update allows me to select the camera without having to switch to reverse which is nice however I need to see my trailer behind my 5th wheel while traveling. This is my first time using Forscan however not my first time doing this stuff.

Do you know if the nav in motion mod also lets you view a camera in motion?

Sadly, it does not. I'm still looking for that one too.

OEM spot lights (in mirrors) - disable turning off at 5mph, enable at any speed.

This can be done with a hardware modification- cut 1 wire, bridge the cut side to an adjacent one that provides +12V all the time, and you can turn the lights on at any speed. They will also stay ON if you do not turn off, but at least they work.

@Bull30213, did you ever figure out how to do this? I'm trying to do the same thing on my 2018 F150 (Sync3), but haven't had any success finding any information online.

I didn't. I worked on it for a little but longer without success. I then loaned my OBD tool out to a friend and haven't gotten it back yet. I need to get it back and finish this up. Sorry.

@124Shark
There is a code to get the DPF Filter percentage, at least as a screen in the Truck menu. From the 2017 Super Duty codes spreadsheet:

Feature Name: Add DPF Filter % to screen
Module: IPC
Key Position: 720-07-02
Example Value: x7xx xxxx
New Value: xFxx xxxx
Notes: This adds the DPF % screen to the Truck Information screen. Some trucks will report a camera error after making this modification. To avoid that, make your update according to the following: If your original default value is 0, change to 8; if 1, change to 9; if 2 then A; if 3 then B; if 4 then C; if 5 then D; if 6 then E, if 7 then F (as shown).
