Disable mykey

Post by Thesavo » Sun Aug 20, 2017 1:17 am

Is it possible to remove keys from MyKey with forscan with out the admin key? I was trying to program an additional PATS key on my 2014 Edge and accidentally enabled MyKey with both keys. Can I use forscan scan to turn this off? I don't have an Admin key since i set both to Mykey.

A similar thing happened to me, except my used F-150 was sold to me with only one key, which I then coverted to a Mykey and locked myself out of most of the truck's features. I had to call a locksmith. You have both keys, so there won't be the added expense of cutting a second key. If your dealer is good, they might do it for no charge if you take your car for an oil change, or some other maintenance. I don't think you can do it with forscan.

Hello.
1. There's no way you can put both keys as MyKey unless you have 3 keys programed. The system will only allow programming a key as MyKeys for n-1 keys (being n the amount of keys programmed for the car). Some aftermarket remote starters count as a Programmed Key so if you had a remote starter installed, that may be the reason you could set both of your keys as MyKey. The system thinks there's still another key around.
2. After much research I coulnd find a way of erasing the programmed MyKeys unless you have a spare one (admin) not a clone. You'll have to go to the dealer and have a new one programmed.
3. There's a way for disabling they whole MyKey function out of the vehicle. Not the same as erasing the MyKey programming on each key
Just use Focccus and scroll down to #239 MyKey and set it to 0. you'll end up with no MyKey feature on the car.

it works for my ford escape 2015
use FoCCCus
1. "Read from BCM"
2. Set #239 MyKey from 2 to 0
3. "Write to BCM"
4. "Read from BCM"
5. Set #239 MyKey from 0 to 1
6. "Write to BCM"
after that mykey is disabled,

P.S. why Forscan doesn't support disabling/clearing Mykey?

This works only for cars with Central Configuration (CC) - mainly, on European (EU) models (Focus Mk3, Kuga Mk2, Transit V363 etc) and some North America (NA) models that are built on the same platform (Focus Mk3, Escape after 2013 etc). This will not work on EU Mondeo 5, NA Fusion, Mustang, Edge, Explorer, F-Series etc because they have no CC.

Current official release (2.3.12) of FORScan does support My Key for cars with CC as well. You can disable My Key in CC as the following:

BdyCM Module Configuration->Central Configuration (Main).

FORScan has no numbers for parameters like FoCCCus, but you can find the option using filter (type "My" and will show you My Key option). Also you have to select Engineering mode 1 in order to allow modification of this parameter. More information about CC can be found here: http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1932

As for non-CC cars, this has to be changed in individual module configuration. Official 2.3.12 release has no this ability, but 2.3.13 will have it for some models (NA Fusion, EU Mondeo, Mustang). If you need us to add this or other parameter for your car, please contact our support (PM or email).
