HELP! I think OBDII broke my car!!??

Post by buckyswider » Tue Mar 28, 2017 6:37 pm

OK, that may be harsh. 2010 Mercury Mariner Hybrid. 11 days new to me.

Was just attempting to get Forscan to connect to my brand-spanking-new OBDLink MX. Paired it OK with windows. Was trying a couple times to connect with Forscan. On about the middle of the second attempt my Nav/Radio shut down and I heard a relay in the rear. Then the rest of the dash shuts off except for the security light. Removed that key, tried with another. Now nothing at all on the dash.

It may just be coincidental, I know. But could the OBDII dongle and/or Forscan have had anything to do with this, maybe somehow erasing the car's key memory??

AGGGHHH!!!!!

EDIT: Jump Start pack got the car running again. I only had the car on for less than 5 minutes. Bad battery? Could the OBDII thing have done something??

Nope, the ODB won't cause this. You're def in need of replacing your battery.
