I have installed the softwares using the CD received with the ELS 27 cable. When I try to establish the connection with the car 'Unable to identify the vehicle. Please contact developers.' is the error code I receive.

Read this as well.
http://www.totalcardiagnostics.com/supp ... 2-software

1) Identify where the cable was purchased - fake or not
2) Identify your computer - compatible or not
3) Identify the exact Year, Make and Model of the vehicle
4) Update your user profile to end the guessing or the exact details within the post.

1: Check with a voltmeter for Battery voltage (12V) between DLC socket Number 16 to Socket 4-5 or to Frame (Ground).

Socket 16 should be 12V+ at all times! If it is not showing 12V+ the adapter is not being powered and will never connect.
Pin 16 has it's own dedicated fuse in most vehicles so you will need to look for a fuse chart(Operators Manual may show Fuse assignment) for the Endeavour and check fuses!

2: If the ELS27 is the adapter with the big Orange Letters and Numbers(Being sold by many places online) and has the Green PCB it is not a real ELS27 But a cheap Copy that has been described here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1904 So you may want to think about sending it back for a refund and getting a real adapter!
