Help with Oil Service light

Post by 0zzy »

Hi all, just joined the forum after hearing about it from a good friend of mine.
I have a 2020 Ford Transit Custom Sport-320S (2l turbo diesel) and just did my service, I would like to please ask anyone in here if this feature can be performed using the OBD MX+ hardware. I tried with both IOS and windows 10 pc but sadly the software won't work :( Any help would be greatly appreciated 8-)
Here is the message I get wile performing this:

1) Go to the support site and update the firmware through the laptop and let it finish.
https://www.obdlink.com/support/mxp/

2) Try the adapter again.

3) Do not be surprised if Ford has protected their networks.

Did you happen to read the Owners Literature? Is there an entry to reset the service requirement?

Yes read the book which point's me to the dealership for the service, no mention on how the oil reset light can be reset by owner like on the older cars/vans

One test to perform is on an older vehicle to prove the device and FORScan works.
I have the same device. Did you apply it in the menu / configuration and it is seen with Bluetooth?
I use the Android version, W10 is far too much of an annoyance and prefer W7 Ultimate or Professional 64bit.
Another test can be with a Virtual Machine but decent skills are required to make it work.

This procedure works on US vehicles:

There appears to be a problem with the Forscan Lite app. Send the Forscan developers an email, not a forum post. The PC version of the program probably works.

Hi Don,
I tried both PC and iPhone/android app... same problem as per picture attached in previous post!
Also had a second 2019 Custom Sport van hooked up which produced the same problem.

I have now come to the conclusion that the software will not support the newer Transit Custom Sport 2019-2021 models due to intellectual property protections by some of the car manufacturers... (I know BMW has introduced new rules when it comes to their software)!

The YouTube clip you posted is for the older 2016 model, the newer versions Custom Sport from 2019 to present have the new dash and ECU to meet the silly EURO 5/6 conditions, so I believe that our models have very limited open features to the Forscan software. My last hope is probably to email the guys at Forscan and see what they have to say about this!

Will let you all know the outcome
