forscan on a different laptop

Post by carcamerarig » Sun Oct 20, 2019 8:12 pm

Hi there,
I setup FORScan on a small netbook but its next to useless so i put parallels onto a macbook for some other Windows software, can i just use the same hardware number or do i need to do a fresh 2 month licence on the new machine?

No problem at all ...

What is the Hardware ID and how to get it?

Hardware ID is a special code that identifies your PC with Windows OS installed. It is generated by a special algorithm on the basis of PC components' data and used to connect Extended License key to the specific PC. The Hardware ID may change if some PC components are replaced, in this case new Extended License key has to be generated.

software or hardware :!:

That's right
Each new Windows OS generates its own hardware ID number !

I have repeatedly installed clean windows on the same computer and the FORScan ID will always be different

It is a mix of:

Hardware
AND
User (privileges)

Hardware IDs under Windows account with and without admin rights will be different. So if you have 3 accounts A, B, C and A has admin rights and B and C have no admin rights, B and C should have the same Hw ID but A and B will have different IDs.
