i am trying to do diagnostics on the ESOP on my 2014 F250.
i am also using a new laptop running windows 10.
i can connect to the truck, but nothing else. i can not even figure out how to load the standard license.
is there a trick to using forscan with windows 10?
i had no problems on the old win XP machine.

No tricks as far as I can tell. I've used both an old Win7/upgraded to Win8/upgraded to Win10 and a newer straight-from-the-box Win10 machine and they both work fine.tjctransport wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 12:13 pmi am trying to do diagnostics on the ESOP on my 2014 F250.

Re: forscan and windows 10.
just got it figured out about 20 minutes ago.
well not me, i had my 6 year old great granddaughter do it.
i was trying to get it from the pop up files. she asked where it was and went into "C" drive, then users, then tom, then documents, then forscan, and boom. loaded and said restart.
now to try to figure out what is wrong with the truck.

Re: forscan and windows 10.
forscan says there is nothing wrong with the truck. so i guess next step is remove the shift motor and try to see if it is any good or not.
i don't want to spend $200 for a new shift motor if that is not the problem.

Sounds like me with my first dvd player. My grade school aged daughter was a wizard with all things electronically programmed
Yeah, we know. I don't mind $20 or $30 to see but I start getting the jitters around $100. Good luck!tjctransport wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 6:17 pmforscan says there is nothing wrong with the truck. so i guess next step is remove the shift motor and try to see if it is any good or not.

Re: forscan and windows 10.
exactly!!!
i can get a new manual shift T-case for $1400 from tasca ford.
i will go that route and be done with that stupid soccer mom 4X4 crap.
if i had known this truck had ESOF i never would have bought it.
never had esof before, and will never have it again!!

Re: forscan and windows 10.
As they say- to each his own, YMMV, etc. This is my third truck since 2001 with ESOF. May be that I'm just lucky but I've never had any trouble with it. I'm what I'd call a casual 4x4 user- winter snow/ice, maybe once a month on some logging roads or across a couple fields. I think if I were a more off-road or wilderness person I certainly would pass on the electronics whenever possible. Simpler and non-powered is often better.tjctransport wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 10:35 amexactly!!!
