We didn't modify such an adapters, may be someone from our users who made this modification on similar adapter would help.

Actually, principle is the same (wiring etc), the only problem is how to disassemble the adapter and where to find a place for the HS/MS CAN switch (as the adapter is too compact).

I own one of these. The case is glued all around. It is hard to open.
Modification should be possible. CAN chipset supports data rates up to 1MB/s and bluetooth module supports standard 2.1 EDR.
I also had a look into internal wiring. CAN transceiver sits on the second circuit board. You can cut the frame connector between the boards and add a switch.
There is little place for a switch.
Personally i do not profit from adding a switch but maybe i add one anyway and post some pictures.

There is also a mini bt version with translucent blue case. This case is just latched together and is very easy to open. The content is the same like on the white (there is also a black one) mini bt ELM clone.

I'm preparing for the Android version of Forscan if it handles the MS-CAN, i may need to do the switch mod. My model is this one:

Is there any news Fred about your attempt since then?

I found a switch that should fit. But i haven´t done the mod yet.
I´ll post the update as soon as the work is done.

My adapter has a ON/OFF button. But when i push this button the red LED (that is on my adapter) is still switched ON, is it the same for you?

My adapter is same as shown in the picture and does not have any buttons. As soon as plugged in something is lit inside (maybe red, i don´t remember). But i don´t care much about the LEDs. There are also some empty spaces on the PCB for additional LEDs.

You dont care about the LED being lit all time? Dont you think it could discharge the car battery?
I'm disappointed about my adapter, because the ON/OFF button seems not to shutdown the LED, so it's draining current over the time and it sux the battery, i think.

The adapter is really tiny and could be plugged in all the time...
But usually i remove the adapter when i am finished playing around with Forscan. I don´t use it that often that i am tempted to leave it plugged in all the time.

i let it plugged all time but there is one led on it. this led is red and its consuming the car battery because the led is on all the time. i dont think it could flush the battery voltage in one week but im not sure if u let u car immobilized during 2 months. maybe ur battery will be flushed by led consumed current. its really silly because there is on off switch on adapter but its not working on mine
