Issue With ELM327

Post by Barton2013 » Sat Feb 03, 2018 3:45 am

Hello,

I just received my OBD-II and am having issue using the forscan program. Forscan is able to establish connection to my ELM and recognizes the adapter etc, however when it comes time to read my vehicle I keep getting the same "(ERR) [20:57:15.193] Unable to connect to vehicle. Please make sure the ignition key is ON and try again"

I have literally tried everything on these forums, even connecting to my ELM ip address but the page is never able to load when i try to do that.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem as you. I have tried reloading drivers and Forscan, I have even tried two ELM adaptors, but cannot get connected to the car - I've even tried two different cars but always the same result - unable to connect to the vehicle.

Please can someone help?

Right - I sorted it myself. Having bought two supposedly different adaptors from from two different sellers on Ebay, they turned out to be identical and not as illustrated. Both are being returned as neither worked. I then bought a totally different looking adaptor and it works perfectly.

Well then it would be advantages to others if we knew which "working adapter you purchased"
